Version 2.4.3 · Chrome & Edge · side panel · ~22 KB

Chrome & Edge · one-click install

Heads up: we're in Chrome Web Store review right now. Until it's approved, you install the early-access build from the zip below — it takes about a minute. Once we're approved, it'll be a single "Add to Chrome" button and you can switch over.
  1. Download & unzip

Click the download button above. Find jarforai-extension.zip in your Downloads, right-click it, and choose Extract All (Windows) or double-click it (Mac). You'll get a folder — remember where it is.

Keep the folder. Don't delete it after installing — Chrome loads the extension from this folder, so it needs to stay put.
  2. Open Chrome's extensions page

In Chrome, type chrome://extensions into the address bar and press Enter. (On Edge, use edge://extensions.)

  3. Turn on Developer mode

Top-right of that page, flip the Developer mode switch on. A new row of buttons appears.

  4. Load the extension

Click Load unpacked, then select the folder you unzipped in step 1. The JarForAI icon appears in your toolbar.

If Chrome shows a warning about developer-mode extensions on startup, that's normal for early-access builds — click Keep. It disappears once you install the approved version from the store.
  5. Pin it, open the panel & sign in

Click the puzzle-piece icon in your toolbar, then the pin next to JarForAI so it's always visible. Now click the Jar icon — the panel docks to the side of your browser and stays there while you work. Sign in with your jarforai.com email and password. That's it — you're set for 90 days.

Opening & closing: clicking the toolbar icon opens the panel; the × at the top of the panel closes it.

You're in 🎉

Open ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Kimi K2, or GLM, click the Jar icon, and the Jar panel docks to the side. Pick a project, then save a checkpoint (give it a label!) or inject your package — the panel stays open while you work.

How to Use Jar

Jar keeps your project memory alive across AI sessions. Start a chat in one AI, save your work, and pick it up later in another — no re-explaining.

Works across six AIs: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Kimi K2, and GLM.

The Basics

  1. Load your project

Paste your continuation package into any AI. It boots and greets you. Your project is live.

  2. Work normally

Talk to the AI. Build things. Make decisions. Jar tracks the context in the background.

  3. Save a checkpoint

Say checkpoint or save when you hit a milestone. The AI writes a structured commit — decisions, not chatter.

  4. Fold checkpoints into the package

Checkpoints stack up as pending. When you're ready, save them to the package. Now they're part of your permanent record.

  5. Continue anywhere

Generate a fresh package. Paste it into the next session. Everything carries over.

The Four Buttons

In the Chrome side panel, every action is one click:

  • Continue in AI — generates your package to hand to the AI.
  • Save Checkpoint — captures your current progress. Add a label if you want.
  • Save to Package — folds your checkpoints into the Jar.
  • Capture Package reply → Jar — pulls the AI's consolidated reply back in.

The panel docks to the side of your browser. Click the toolbar icon to open it. Click the × to close.

Key Commands

Type these to the AI anytime:

  • status — shows what's saved and what's still open.
  • save / checkpoint — commits your work.

Why Checkpoints Matter

A good checkpoint captures the decision, not the discussion. Every filename, version number, and value gets preserved exactly.

That way, when you reload the package weeks later, nothing feels vague. You can reconstruct exactly what changed.

One habit to keep

Save at milestones — don't wait until the chat is huge. The AI will prompt you every 15–20 exchanges, or before a big task. Take the prompt. Your future self will thank you.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes — the extension is included with every Jar plan at no extra cost. You just need a jarforai.com account to sign in.

Why isn't it a normal one-click install yet?

It's in Chrome Web Store review. Google checks every extension before it's listed, which takes a few days. The early-access zip lets you use it now; once approved, you'll get the one-click "Add to Chrome" button.

Is the zip safe?

It's the exact same code we submitted to Google for review. The zip install just skips the store's listing step. If you'd rather wait for the official store version, that's completely fine — leave your email and we'll tell you the day it's live.

Which browsers work?

Chrome 114+ and recent Chromium browsers — Edge, Brave, Opera (the side panel needs a 2023-or-newer version). Firefox and Safari aren't supported yet.

What can it see?

Only the AI chat pages you use it on, so it can read the conversation you choose to capture. It signs in to your own Jar account and does nothing else. It never reads other tabs or sites.
